Young adults

Soldiers, students, and young people first encounter independent life when they are drafted into the army, go on a trip abroad or begin to study. This is a stage of their lives in which their entire world changes from top to bottom. You go out on the town and it's hard to keep a regular sleep schedule, you are under pressure working shifts, you are overloaded with exams and assignments, and you can't maintain an organized and balanced routine, you are coping with complexities, such as army, studies, love life and livelihood, which bring a lot of emotional pressures into your life.

Life outside your parents' home also signifies acute changes in nutritional habits. Changes are often manifest in increased alcohol consumption, imbalanced eating, and a diet that is mostly based on purchased food or pre-prepared food, fast food (junk food) and foods containing saturated fats and carbohydrates. All these may lead to overweight, physical fatigue and radical mood swings.

The question is how to cope with all this without harming your body, how to succeed in maintaining a healthy and balanced weight, incorporate physical activity and nutritional food in your overloaded daily routine, and most importantly, avoid getting swept up into the frenzy of emotions, which, for the most part, act as a trigger for the development of obesity and eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder) that are so difficult to recover from.

ISIS - The Interdisciplinary Center for Weight Management, Nutrition and Wellness offers a special program for soldiers, students and young people. This is a program incorporating nutritional guidance, physical training and emotional support, which help you make the transition to adulthood more easily and smoothly.
